Men’s Journal Collection Pop-Up Opening
Men’s Journal magazine opened an interactive retail showcase in the 900 North Michigan Shops hosting its “Chicago Men of the Year” for a fun cocktail party in a cute pop-up shop and I was there. They had me at men.
The Men of the Year honorees included the go-to guy for clubs and restaurants Billy Dec; Chicago Bear Matt Forte; Ryan Chiaverini, Roe Conn and Mark DeCarlo of ABC-TV’s Windy City Live; ABC7 news anchor Marc Giangreco; Tim King, founder and CEO of Urban Prep Academies; and a plethora of other men noted for their good looks and good hearts.
There were appetizers and a Woodward Reserve bourbon bar. Again, they had me at bourbon! I had a Manhattan which was delish and more than one concoction that had chocolate in it, because who doesn’t like chocolate?
Also seen on the scene were the fab Regina Daniels, promoter Mikael Hadiri, one of my fave foodies Amanda Puck and Men’s Journal Editor at Large Terry Nolan.
I had a great time, especially because I ended the night at Chik-Fil-A with Tyra!

Summertime Chi
This past weekend Donovan McNabb had his 1st Celebrity Homecoming Weekend here in Chicago. Friday my girl Tracey & I went to the party at China Grill at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday where my DJ mentor Mark Fuller(Fullaflava) spun along with Timbuck 2. New York Knick Amare Stoudemire, the recently drafted Detroit Lion Mikel LeShoure, former Chicago Bear and fashionista Jerry Azumah, and a bevy of other ballers were in attendance as well as my homeboy sports-consultant Ardie “AJ” Jenkins who works with Mikel and has a knack for grooming NFL talent. Saturday, I made a splash with Ilia and Noelle at the pool party at the Lakeshore Athletic Club’s rooftop where Mark Fuller and DJ 33 and 1/3 did their thing on the 1s and 2s. There were a bunch of football players there, but I couldn’t begin to tell you who they were because I’m a basketball girl. There was also a party on Saturday night at the W City Center, but I didn’t attend because I had another engagement. But it’s safe to say that a good time was had by all and money was raised for the Donovan McNabb Foundation.
